Concrete slabs and pads for metal buildings in Texas

A metal building is only as square and level as the slab under it. The anchor bolts must land where the building supplier's anchor bolt plan says, to the fraction of an inch, or the frames won't stand. We prepare the site, excavate the footings, set the forms and bolts, and place the slab to the stamped foundation design for your building.

01 · How it works

What the work involves

Metal building foundations in Texas are designed by an engineer for the building's loads and the site's soil. That matters especially in DFW, where expansive clay can shrink and swell enough to crack slabs that weren't designed for it. We build from that design and don't substitute our own.

The two documents we need are the foundation drawings (slab thickness, beams or footings, reinforcing) and the building manufacturer's anchor bolt plan. Bolt positions are checked against the plan before every pour.

Our own dump trucks and track loaders handle site clearing, footing excavation and spoil haul-off without waiting on a separate subcontractor.

04 · Work methodology

How we do it

  1. 01

    Review documents

Read the foundation drawings and anchor bolt plan and confirm questions with your engineer or supplier.

  2. 02

    Site prep

Clear and grade the site, excavate footings or beams, and haul off spoil.

  3. 03

    Form and steel

Set forms, reinforcing, vapor retarder and anchor bolts, and check them against the plan.

  4. 04

    Place and finish

Pour, finish and cut joints at the right time.

  5. 05

    Cure and verify

Cure the slab and verify bolt positions before the erector arrives.

05 · Materials and systems

Concrete mix, reinforcing and vapor retarder follow the foundation drawings. If the drawings don't specify a mix, we'll confirm it with your engineer before ordering.

07 · Buyer questions

Questions property and project managers ask

Do you design the foundation?
No. The foundation for a metal building should come from an engineer. Your building supplier can often provide one. We build what's on the stamped drawings.
Can you handle the site work too?
Yes. Clearing, grading, footing excavation and haul-off are done with our own equipment.
